Hunt Options

Our options include two basic types of hunts. We offer wild bird hunts on private property in two locations of the state and we also offer preserve bird hunts which are also on private property.

Preserve Hunts

One question we get asked often is which hunt would be best. That really depends on a couple of things. If you have never been on an Oklahoma upland bird hunt then we recommend the preserve bird hunt. This hunt offers an abundance of shooting opportunities and is ideal for hunters with less upland bird hunting experience as well as experienced hunters. On preserve hunts we release 15 birds for each hunter in the group and there is no state limit for this hunt so you can shoot as many birds as you have opportunity at.

Wild Bird Hunts

The wild bird hunts are more challenging to be sure but also require a lot more walking than a released bird hunt. Be prepared to do a lot of walking on this hunt. Wild birds are faster and flush more unpredictably than released birds which makes it more challenging. Wild bird hunts must follow state season dates and there is a 10 bird per day limit. We welcome both experienced hunters and hunters with little experience to both hunts.

Season dates depend on whether you are doing the preserve bird hunts or the wild bird hunts.  Preserve hunting is conducted from Oct. 1st thru March 15th each year. Wild bird hunts are conducted between Nov. 9th and Feb. 15th.

Upland bird hunts licensing also depend on the hunt you select. The preserve hunts requires a $5 license which you can purchase from your guide at the time of the hunt. Wild bird hunts require either an annual hunting license or a 5 day hunting license is available for non-residents for approximately $75. Licensing information is fat the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife licensing page.

Lodging

While hunting you may also choose to add lodging to your hunt. We offer PRIVATE lodging for our preserve upland bird hunts and for our wild bird hunts for the Snyder, Oklahoma area (approximately 1.5 hour drive). To add lodging to your preserve bird hunt you will be charged $35 per person per night with a $70 per night minimum. Our wild bird hunts near Lavern, Oklahoma will include lodging but this is remote lodging which may not be private or meet the same luxury lodging standards as our home base lodging locations. This remote lodging is provided because of the distance from our main hunting base near Gracemont, Oklahoma where our preserve hunting is located (approximately 3 hour drive).

With any of the hunts you are welcome to provide our own lodging or we also have RV hookup available for $35 per night.

All of our upland bird hunts require a minimum of 2 hunters. We can take a maximum of 12 hunters. Normal preserve hunts are 2 to 3 hours and are either morning or afternoon hunts. Wild bird hunts are an all day hunt. You are to provide your own transportation on all upland bird hunts.

Optionally, we offer our upland hunts in combination with some of our other hunts which you will see below or we can add an upland hunt to any other hunt on request. Do you have a custom package in mind? We can do that also! Just send us an email or give us a call/text and we can price that for you also.
