It’s that time of year!

It’s that time of year!  The time of year when the nights start to cool and the deer start to move earlier in t the evening, the hogs start making daytime appearances.  Hunting season is upon us!

Thoughts of that ideal trophy buck, boar, or exotic start to invade your mind.  The uncontrollable desire to break out all your weapons and make sure everything is ready to go.  I saw a big group of bucks last night that really got me fired up.

We are busy here at No Mercy Hunting Services.  We are putting in fall food plots, filling up feeders, getting stands and blinds ready.  Mike has been working ground for our plots and I’ve been on the phone getting our food plot seed, fertilizer, etc. in order.  This year we will have around 30 acres worth of food plots.  Most of our plots are around 2 acres or so.  We’re going with a new blend this year which has triticale, winter peas, chicory, vetch, etc in it.  I think it may work out to be a very good blend for our area.  I’m picking up corn today for the feeders and we’ll be getting those refilled.  We’re also planning blind and stand locations.  Lots to do.  I would be happy to answer any questions about food plot preparation or management that anyone might have.

Looks like it is going to be a really busy season for us.  I’ve got a lot of hunts booked and people have been calling more and more frequently as the weather has cooled.  I think I could make a graph that would show the correlation of increasing phone calls with decreasing temperature.
